Angela Balderas was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia. Her family is originally from Zacatecas, Mexico. She has two sisters - an older and younger sister which makes her the middle child. She graduated from Osborne High School in 2018 and pursued a bachelor's degree from Georgia State University. She graduated with her Bachelor's in Business Administration with a double major in Marketing and Managerial Sciences in May of 2022. She speaks English and Spanish.

MADELINE BERCHER

Born and raised in France, Madeline Bercher first came to the United States in 2016 as an exchange student upon finishing her French secondary education. Madeline later moved to Georgia to study at Georgia Southern University where she obtained a double Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Modern Languages. During those four years, she was involved in representing the international community on campus and serving her fellow international students. In 2022, she permanently returned to the United States to reunite with her spouse.
Madeline is passionate about human rights, especially about working with marginalized immigrant communities to help them access the resources that will allow them to thrive. In college, she published an undergraduate honors thesis on the refugee crisis in Europe. After graduating from university, she interned with refugee resettlement organizations in Georgia and worked as a legal assistant and social worker for refugees in Paris. Upon returning to the U.S., Madeline joined Antonini and Cohen, where she is excited to continue serving immigrant communities.
Madeline is trilingual in English, French, and Spanish.

BLANCA BRITO

Blanca Brito was born in Durango, Mexico. She was young when she came to the United States with her parents and siblings. The family arrived to California, where she finished her High School studies. In 2002, she moved to Georgia and graduated from Gwinnett College with a degree in Science Business Technology. She also has a diploma in Computer Operations. At this time, she is currently in school getting her paralegal degree. Her favorite pastime is being with her family.

LILIAN CARRERA-MOSSO

Lillian Carrera-Mosso was born and raised in the Atlanta area. Her family immigrated to Georgia from Guerrero, Mexico in the 1980’s. She graduated from the University of Georgia in May of 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology.
Lillian began working with the Antonini and Cohen Immigration Law Group in August 2016 as an Administrative Assistant where she enjoys learning as much as she can about the immigration law process. She is fluent in Spanish and English.

Esmeralda Cervera was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. After graduating high school Esmeralda pursued a career in sales, which included retail and real estate sales. She is fluent in English and Spanish. Esmeralda’s sales and customer service expertise made her a great fit for our client services specialist role here at Antonini and Cohen. When Esmeralda is not working, she enjoys spending time with her children and watching crime series.

GWYNNE DAVIS
CASE MANAGER
Gwynne Davis brings over 23 years of experience working with immigration law to the Antonini and Cohen Immigration Law Group. Ms. Davis began her career in 1999, working as a Board of Immigration Appeals Accredited Representative with Catholic Charities in Atlanta, Georgia, under the tutelage of Catholic Charities Immigration Clinic Director, Susan H. Colussy. Since 2004, Ms. Davis served as the senior litigation paralegal to Maria M. Odom, Esq., when she was a Senior Partner at Kuck Casablanca and Odom, LLC., and the Odom Immigration Law Group, LLC. In 2009, Ms. Davis joined the Antonini Law Firm as a Senior Paralegal and continues in the same position at the Antonini and Cohen Immigration Law Group.
Ms. Davis is fluent in the Spanish language and specializes in several areas of immigration law including: family-based immigration, deportation defense, refugee and asylum petitions, NACARA and naturalization. She has vast experience and success in the area of deportation defense.

MISHEL DROCCO ZUCCALA

Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, Mishel moved to Atlanta, Ga with his family when he was 4 years old. He graduated from the Paideia School in Decatur, GA in 2017 and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and sociology from Emory University In 2021. Mishel has worked in immigration law since graduating college and plans to continue his education in graduate school or law school in the future.
In his spare time, Mishel enjoys working out, playing soccer, watching sports, taking care of his two cats and interacting with family and friends.

NICOLAS FRANCO ROLDAN

Nicolas Franco-Roldan was born in Medellín, Colombia, and moved to the United States at the age of two. Inspired by Atlanta’s global scene, Nic graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs and a minor in French and Francophone Studies.
After interning at the U.S. House of Representatives in the Fall of 2019, Nic returned to Atlanta and joined the A&C team where he assists clients navigate the immigration system.
When not serving clients at Antonini & Cohen, Nic enjoys volunteering, traveling, and studying foreign languages.

Jonathan Garcia was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from Georgia College & State University in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a pre-law concentration. He is currently pursuing his J.D. at the Georgia State University College of Law.
He has dedicated the last five years to immigration law, focusing on removal defense before the immigration court. This experience as well as his new role at Antonini & Cohen allow him the opportunity to pursue his passion around social justice for marginalized groups.

Edward Gomez is an intern for the administrative team at Antonini and Cohen in hopes of receiving an insight in the field of law and pursuing a future education in law. Liz Gonzalez was born in Guerrero, Mexico and moved to the US with her family at the age of 3. A proud resident of Atlanta, GA, Liz became a US citizen in 2016 after a lengthy immigration process.
Liz pursued a career in sales, marketing, and office management prior to joining Antonini and Cohen. Her extensive volunteer work history in social justice, immigrant rights and voting rights groups influenced her decision to join the A&C team. She is fluent in English and Spanish.

JULIANA GUERRERO
EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
Juliana Guerrero is the executive assistant to Marshall Cohen. She first came to the United States in 2004, but returned to her home country of Colombia to pursue her political science and law studies at Universidad de Los Andes. Juliana has a certificate from the Program of Advanced Studies on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law from American University and a certificate in International Criminal Law from Leiden University. She is passionate about human rights, refugee law, and gender justice, and has advocated for migrants and refugees in Colombia, Mexico, and the United States. In Colombia, she represented asylum seekers from Venezuela fleeing the humanitarian crisis in their country and worked with international NGOs on accountability projects for humanitarian actors in crises contexts. She volunteered with the Kino Border Initiative at the Mexico-US border in Nogales, Sonora, by providing trauma-enforced care and humanitarian aid to migrants and asylum seekers. She recently moved back to Atlanta to be closer to her family. Outside of her work, Juliana enjoys backpacking the world, reading, and dancing.

ESTEBAN GUTIERREZ

Esteban was born and raised in Colombia. In 2017 he obtained his law degree at the Universidad del Rosario in Colombia, has a postgraduate degree in Public Law and 3 and a half years of work experience in issues related to public law and free competition of the market. He had the opportunity to work in several public entities of the Colombian State, including the Consulate General of Colombia in Atlanta, where he acquired experience in immigration matters and citizen assistance. In his free time, he likes to read, exercise and enjoy spaces to share with his family and friends.

PATRICK HE

Patrick He attended Shanghai Medical School, Tzabei Division, from 1972 through 1975. After finishing his medical studies, Patrick worked in a hospital for four years. Between 1979 and 1987, Patrick served as a translator and interpreter in the Foreign Language Department of the Shanghai Petrol-Chemical Institute and other government institutions in Shanghai. From 1987 to 1990, Patrick worked in the Consular Section of the U.S. Consulate in Shanghai. Patrick moved to the U.S. in 1990, and he has worked as a paralegal with Cohen and Associates since 1992.

CURTIS JOHNSON
IMMIGRATION WRITER
Curtis Johnson works as Antonini & Cohen’s immigration writer, creating the narrative portion of the waivers presented to immigration courts. Curtis’s job is to craft a holistic view of clients—making them more than just a number and relaying the idiosyncrasies of their individual experiences.
Originally from Mobile, Alabama, Curtis earned a BA in history from the University of South Alabama, minoring in anthropology. He studied abroad at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina in Brazil, honing his knowledge of the Portuguese language. In 2021, he graduated from Yale Divinity School with a Master of Arts in Religion, concentrating on Latinx Christianity.
During school and his studies, Curtis volunteered as an English as a second language teacher, participated in the Sahara Service Organization and Habitat for Humanity, and served as the international education ambassador for his university.
Outside of work, Curtis plays the vibraphone, produces music and is always on the lookout for a good gig band.

MEARON LEMMA

Mearon is a first-generation Ethiopian-American born and raised in Jijiga, Ethiopia. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and a minor in Global Health. Being an immigrant prompted her interest in international culture and public service. Her interdisciplinary studies focused on culture, global health, human rights, and crisis diplomacy. After graduating from UGA, she worked as a case manager at a family law immigration firm in Atlanta. Two and a half years later she moved to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to fulfill a lifelong dream - to reconnect to her roots. Through EDF, she completed a six-month fellowship working for a social enterprise in Addis Ababa as a business development officer.
As a commonly shared sentiment for most first-generation immigrants, the tenacity to succeed and help those in need was deeply rooted in her. Being a paralegal allowed her to have a meaningful career with societal impact. In late 2022, Mearon joined Antonini and Cohen Immigration Law Group to further serve the Atlanta community. If she is not sharing receipts with family and friends- she loves to travel in her spare time.

Ahad Majeed was born in Gloucester, England, and moved to the United States at 6 months of age. Raised in Miami, Florida, Ahad moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2015 and has made a home for himself here since. He graduated from Georgia State University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and history.
Ahad has worked in immigration law for over a year and he has hopes of attending law school. He is fluent in English and Urdu. In his free time, Ahad enjoys watching Miami sports teams and following European soccer.

GEORGINA MARTINEZ

Georgina Martinez was born in Mexico City and moved to the U.S. at the young age of two. She has been living in the state of Georgia for the last twenty years. For the last twelve years she has been working directly with the immigrant community in the state of Georgia. She became engaged with the immigrant rights movement as a teenager trying to find a way to obtain legal status in the United States.
Georgina served as a volunteer, then later as the People’s Defense Project Director at the Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights (GLAHR), one of the largest immigrant grassroots organizations in the state, where she found her political home; she was involved with the organization for over ten years. She was also a Co-field Director for the Gente4Abrams Campaign in 2018.
When she’s not helping clients at Antonini & Cohen, Georgina enjoys lifting, going to Atlanta United games, hiking and traveling with her husband.

DIEGO MORALES

Diego Morales grew up in Quito, Ecuador and moved to the United States in 2001 with his mom, dad and sister. After graduating from Meadowcreeek High School in 2004, he spent 12 years working for various Car Rental Companies as his previous passion was cars.ºAfter many years in the Car Rental Business, in 2018 he joined Kapoor Luther and Loftman Immigration Partners as their Office Manager and their paralegal – here, he learned all aspects of Immigration processes – especially with the Employment sector. In early 2022, Kapoor Luther and Loftman merged with Antonini and Cohen Immigration Law Group for better positioning of both teams to serve the Employment-Based immigration needs of clients nationwide.
Diego is highly involved in the Hispanic Community throughout Atlanta. He serves as a soccer coach and small group leader at a Christian Mentorship Academy, coaching to kids between 10 and 18 years old.

Emily spent the majority of her upbringing in both Mexico and Spain. She moved to Harrisonburg, VA in 2011 to earn her bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Religion from James Madison University and graduated in 2015. Shortly after graduating, Emily began working as a paralegal at an immigration law firm, sparking her passion for immigration defense and advocacy. In 2020, she moved to Madrid, Spain to work as assistant director of Oasis Center, an urban nonprofit that offers community, advocacy and education to underprivileged families. She moved to Atlanta, GA in Spring 2022 and in her spare time enjoys volunteering, kickboxing and traveling.

Andres Rincon is a first-generation Mexican American born in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2017, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a Pre-Law concentration from Georgia State University and continued his studies at Emory University where he earned a Paralegal Certificate in 2020. Andres is currently pursuing a juris doctor at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School.
Andres has over three years of experience in the legal field through his work as a paralegal in personal injury and immigration. At Antonini & Cohen Immigration Law Group, Andres is a case manager who helps people with their specific immigration processes. Andres handles each case passionately due to his personal experience with the immigrant journey. Andres’ goal is to guide the Atlanta immigrant community through the complex immigration system while providing excellent customer service. Andres is fluent in English and Spanish.

Sam Rodriguez is a first generation Mexican American. She is an Atlanta born native with a passion for helping her community. She has previously acted as a volunteer coordinator for her campus’ volunteer organization, SCAD Serve. This opportunity has allowed her to work with partner organizations such as America’s Second Harvest, Habitat for Humanity, the Humane Society, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and more. With her bachelor's degree in Sound Design, she has worked on editing sounds for tv and radio commercials. She also enjoys singing and playing her ukulele or experimenting with new art mediums.

Jusu is originally from Montserrado, Liberia, born and raised in the city of Monrovia. He Immigrated to the United States in Summer 2007 and became a U.S. Citizen in Spring 2019. Jusu earned dual Bachelors of Arts degrees in History and Political Science from Georgia State University and his Paralegal Certification from the University of Georgia. He is currently a Juris Masters Candidate at Emory University Law School. Jusu joined Antonini & Cohen Law Group with over five (5) years’ experience handling various immigration related matters. As an immigrant himself, Jusu takes pride in his work and strives to provide the best possible service to our clients. Jusu is fluent in both English and Spanish. Jusu enjoys traveling and often does when he is not working. So far, he has visited 23 countries around the world; most recently he returned to Monrovia, Liberia where he was born.

Liliana Tapia Was born in Mexico however Georgia has been her home for over a decade. Isabella Valadez is the executive assistant to Kathleen Hoyos and Nisha Karnani. She was born and raised in NorthEast Georgia. In May of 2022 Isabella graduated from Agnes Scott College with a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and Political Science and a minor in History. In her free time she enjoys dancing, rock climbing, and spending time with her dog.
